Broken Barrel

A culinary venture spearheaded by Culinary Institute of America alumna Hilda Ysusi, this chef-inspired establishment aims to inject a breath of fresh air into the chain-dominated landscape of “Restaurant Row” in Hughes Landing.

Nestled on the ground level of One Lakes Edge, the space began as a shell building, with Architects Plus – now Method Architecture – leading concept and spacial design. Putting emphasis on its grand focal point, the restaurant offers a picturesque vista of Lake Woodlands. Not only that, its contemporary décor features spacious interiors accentuated by high ceilings, rustic wood, and brick elements.

Standout construction features include the expansive glass garage door, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor dining. Steel framing and decorative metal railing make up a beautiful mezzanine above used for storage and office personnel. Positioned at the heart of the space, an enormous column of brick and quarts make up the open kitchen, providing a captivating focal point, delineating the bar area from the main dining section.
